About

At Emmanuel College, studying education means examining the systems that shape learning—and gaining the skills to shape them for the better. You'll begin by exploring access and equity in the history of American education, then build toward research-based strategies for effective teaching in math, science, English language arts and social studies.

Through in-class instruction, site placements and hands-on learning across nearly three dozen partner schools in the Greater Boston area, you’ll engage directly with students and classrooms representing a range of cultural backgrounds and learning needs. Our location in the heart of Boston gives you real-world experience from your very first year.

Emmanuel offers three undergraduate majors: educational studies, elementary education, and secondary education, along with minors in education and math education.

Learning Through Service, Teaching With Purpose

From after-school programs to Boston classrooms, Emmanuel students discover their path through hands-on experience.
