Murtagh '97 G'00 Named Superintendent of Peabody Public Schools

Cara Murtagh '97 G'00 has worked in Peabody schools for more than two decades—and is now in charge of more than 6,000 students and 450 teachers in the district's 10 schools.

Since earning her undergraduate degree in education and history from Emmanuel College in 1997—followed by a graduate degree in educational leadership and administration in 2000—Cara Murtagh has risen through the ranks in the Peabody Public Schools, first as a teacher at St. John's School and now as superintendent for the district's 10 schools.
