Microsoft Office 365 is a modern collaboration platform that provides a full-featured email system with web access, integrated calendaring, a campus contacts directory, support for mobile device access, and 99 gigabytes of mailbox storage per user account.

Features:

  • Convenient web and desktop access to your email and integrated calendar. Full-featured web interface for accessing email and calendar (Outlook Web App), as well as email and integrated calendar compatibility with desktop email clients such as Microsoft Outlook and Apple Mail.

  • Large message storage capacity. 50 gigabytes of email storage for each user.
  • Access from portable devices, including iOS and Android-based phones and tablets. Access to your email, calendar entries, and contacts from your mobile device.
  • Built-in anti-spam message filtering. Integrated anti-spam tools for smoother control of email filtering and identification.
  • OneDrive for Business, an online document storage and sharing tool that faculty and staff can access through the Outlook Web App (OWA).

System Requirements

Microsoft Office 365 Browser Support Requirements
For best results, please use one of the browsers listed below in order to access your Microsoft Office 365 account using the Outlook Web App (OWA).
 

Supported Browsers:

Use the most recent versions of the following browsers for the best experience with Office for the web.

  • Windows 10: The new Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Edge Legacy, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome

  • Windows 8.1 or 7 (SP1): The new Microsoft Edge, Firefox or Chrome

  • Mac OS X (10.10 and later): The new Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari 10+ or Chrome

  • Linux: Office for the web works in the new Microsoft Edge, Firefox or Chrome on Linux, but some features may not be available.


These browsers all support the TLS 1.1/1.2 protocol, which is required to connect to OWA.

Q. What is included in Office 365?
A. Office 365 includes an online email system, as well as both online and offline versions of the Microsoft Office Suite. This software suite includes the following Microsoft software:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive

Q. What are the storage limits of this email system?
A. Users have access to 99 GB of mailbox storage dedicated to email and another 1 TB of storage dedicated to their OneDrive. The maximum email size for sending and receiving will be 150 MB. With OneDrive file sharing and collaboration, there will be less of a need for email attachments in the traditional sense.

Q. What is OneDrive and how does it work?
A. OneDrive is a cloud storage, file hosting service that allows users to sync files and later access them from a web browser or mobile device. OneDrive includes a client install that can sync files across devices as well. Watch this short video and read more here.

Q. Does the email system work with EC Learn notifications?
A. All notifications from EC Learn configured to work with email work with Office 365.  

Q. Is there any EC Learn integration with Office 365?

Q. Is O365 compatible with my Mac computer?
A. Yes, Office 365 is fully compatible with Mac computers. The Office 365 web platform works with the Safari browser as well Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

Q. Do I have to use Internet Explorer to use Office 365?
A. No, Office 365 is compatible with most modern browsers so you are not limited to one browser. The Office 365 web platform works with Internet Explorer, Safari, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

Q. How many devices can Office 365 be installed on?
A. You can download the Microsoft Office Suite on up to 5 devices. When you have reached the limit, you are allowed to deregister old devices and register new ones, but you cannot have more than 5 devices registered at one time. You can also access Office 365 online anywhere you have an Internet connection. 

Q. Do I get to use this system when I'm an alumni?
A. Recent graduates Emmanuel email account will remain active for 1 year after graduation. Following this all Emmanuel accounts will be terminated and students will no longer have access to their Office 365 accounts. Because of this, we recommend recent grads begin to forward all important emails and documents to a personal account. Q. What is the webmail URL?
A. For signing into your Office 365 account via the web, please visit portal.office.com and login using your full Emmanuel email address. (ex. username [at] emmanuel.edu)
