Emmanuel College Celebrates Inauguration, Community

On Friday, April 14, 2023, Emmanuel College celebrated the inauguration of our 13th President, Mary K. Boyd, PhD with a daylong series of community events.

It was a picture-perfect April day as more than 800 students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the College took part in the April 14th inauguration ceremony, during which Dr. Mary K. Boyd was officially installed as the 13th president of Emmanuel. The ceremony was preceded by a special Inauguration Mass in the Chapel, celebrated by His Eminence Seán Patrick Cardinal O’Malley, OFM Cap.

Following the ceremony was a joyous celebration on the Emmanuel Quad with a student-planned Campus Fair, featuring the talents of dozens of student organizations. Following the fair, 500 members of the College community walked to Fenway Park to see the Red Sox defeat the Angels. Dr. Boyd threw out the ceremonial first pitch!

A full inauguration website will post in the future, including all remarks. Please visit our photo gallery and YouTube inauguration playlist for highlights and the full Mass and ceremony streams.
