Emmanuel College’s Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement course equips educators with the tools to support students at all levels of English proficiency. You’ll learn how to shelter content instruction so English language learners (ELLs) can access curriculum, engage confidently, and achieve success across subject areas.
Upon completion, students are eligible for Massachusetts’ SEI Teacher Endorsement, a key credential for educators working in multilingual learning environments.
(Note: This program is not required for earning a Master of Education degree at Emmanuel College.
Emmanuel College offers the SEI Endorsement course (EDUC 5300) in two formats, both approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and meeting the state SEI endorsement requirement for licensed educators.
Option 1: Professional Development (PDPs)
Cost: $500
Credits: 67.5 PDPs
For educators seeking SEI endorsement only.
Option 2: Graduate Credit
Cost: $2,200
Credits: 3 graduate credits
May be applied toward a future graduate degree (per program policies).
