Dr. Linda Lin joined the faculty of Emmanuel College in the fall of 2004. Her research focuses on the relationship between physical and mental health. Dr. Lin has examined the link between exercise and depression, eating disorders, and smoking cessation. Other areas of interest have included the psychological impact of obesity, as well as topics in cross-cultural psychology, such as acculturation, stereotyping, and prejudice. Prior to teaching at Emmanuel College, she had taught courses at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Amherst College, and Boston University School of Medicine. She has also worked as a therapist in a number of clinical settings including Boston Medical Center, the Boston VA Medical Center, and the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester.
Dr. Lin earned her Master and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2003. She completed her clinical psychology internship at the Boston Consortium of Clinical Psychology and her postdoctoral fellowship at the Boston University School of Medicine.
