Emmanuel College Employee Benefits

Insurance: Health, Dental, Life & Long-Term Disability

Health Insurance

All full-time (35 hours) employees are offered health insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield.
www.bcbsma.com

HMO Blue Value Plus
Individual Coverage: $95.22 per month
Family Coverage: $374.62 per month

What is an HMO? An HMO contracts with a number of health care providers - its "network." HMO members pay a set fee each year for a predefined package of services. Members must use providers in the "network" to obtain free (or fully reimbursed) care. HMO care requires members to chose a Primary Care Physician (PCP), who acts as a "gatekeeper" to coordinate members' care. Approval of the PCP is required before a member can see a specialist.

Blue Choice (POS)
Individual Coverage: $152.03 per month
Family Coverage: $523.01 per month

What is a Point of Service Plan? A POS plan combines some features of a typical fee-for-service plan with those of a prepaid managed care arrangement. These plans allow you to use in-network or out-of-network providers. Typically, the plan will cover all (or most) of the cost of in-network providers, while those using out-of-network services will incur co-pay and/or deductible out-of-pocket expenses.

Dental Insurance

Delta Dental
Individual Coverage: $13.21 per month
Family Coverage: $38.82 per month
