Matthew Tom received his S.B. in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1997. He moved on to Cornell University, where he received his M.S. in 2001 and his Ph.D. in 2003, both in the field of statistics. After a year at the University of Montana, he returned to the Boston area and joined the Department of Mathematics here at Emmanuel College.
