Emmanuel College PROFILES

Jenny Konecnik '14

Major: Sociology; concentration: crime and justice

Playing on the tennis team has had a huge impact on my time at Emmanuel. I have made my closest friends while getting to play the sport I love. Division III combines the competition that athletes love with a schedule that allows me to balance my academics and other extra-curricular activities. Through tennis, I have been able to be a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and work with other sports teams in planning events and fundraisers.

I have also received the great opportunity to work with Assistant Professor of Sociology Janese Free as a research assistant. With my concentration in crime and justice, I worked with a team researching and writing an article, which we presented in New York City with other research assistants. Emmanuel makes opportunities such as this possible. The professors are knowledgeable about your interests and truly care about advancing your future careers.
