Getting closer to my senior year, I felt I was supposed to have figured out what I wanted to do with my communication major. I had some ideas, but no practical work experience, and felt unsure about the path I was on. I heard about the Saints at Work job shadow program offered by the Office of Internships and Career Development and recognized it as a chance to gain some clarity about my future and to get my foot in the door of the professional world.
I was matched with Suzanne Wenz '94, the regional director of PR at Boston's Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. We met for lunch and discussed the hospitality industry and potential job opportunities. I kept in touch and turned my shadowing experience into a PR internship at the hotel last fall. The Saints at Work program provided the necessary steppingstone and I feel more confident than ever about the direction I am headed.
