Dear Parents and Family Members:
We hope that you and your Emmanuel student are having an enjoyable summer. We are very excited to welcome you and your student to Emmanuel College and we are writing to provide some information about what you can expect on New Student Welcome Day, Sunday, September 4, 2016. Your student has received this information as well.
While the primary task for resident students is to move-in and begin to get their room settled, the college provides several "Welcome" activities for all new students and their families.
Schedule of Events on Sunday, September 4
8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.Resident Student Move-In
2:00 p.m.Commuter Student Check-In and Welcome
2:00 p.m.Sundae Funday! Family Ice Cream Social & Lawn Games
4:30 p.m.Family Liturgy
5:30 p.m.President's Welcome and Presentation of Class Banner
6:00 p.m.Class Photo
6:15 p.m.Family BBQ

Last but not least, we know that in addition to being an exciting, positive and wonderful day, this can also be a difficult and emotional time for parents and family members and students too. We want to share a Boston Globe column by Beverly Beckham reflecting on sending her children off to college. We want to assure you that we are thinking about you at this time of new beginning in your daughter or son's life and that we never forget that our students are your children.
Best of luck with your son or daughter's final preparations for college.
