Meet the Residence Life staff at Emmanuel College, Boston.
Susan K. Benzie
Director of Residence Life and Housing
Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Susan immigrated to Massachusetts over twenty five years ago. Susan graduated from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA in 2002. She completed her Master of Science in management from Emmanuel College in 2005. From 2003 to 2005, Susan was an Assistant Director/Resident Director for Loretto Hall at Emmanuel College. She then proceeded to work as an Academic Advisor for Emmanuel's Graduate & Professional Programs. Susan returned to Residence Life as the Director in 2009.
Associate Director/Residence Director - Peabody and Trilogy
Alissa is from a small town in Connecticut. She did her undergraduate work at Saint Anselm College, earning her B.A. in political science. She then worked at Saint Francis University in the Residence Life Department and also received her master's in educational leadership there. Alissa is very happy to be back in New England. She enjoys shopping, cooking, reading and being with family and friends in her free time. Feel free to stop in her office in Julie Hall to say hello!
Assistant Director/Residence Director - Loretto
Michael is originally from Connecticut. He did his undergraduate work at Endicott College earning his B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in Criminal Justice. Michael then attended Salem State University where he worked with their Career Services Office while he received his Master's in Higher Education in Student Affairs. In his spare time, Michael enjoys spending time with friends and family, going hiking and cooking. If you see Michael around campus, be sure to say "Hello!"
Assistant Director/Residence Director - St. Joseph hall and Notre Dame Campus
Mark is one of the Assistant Directors of Residence Life & Resident Director of St. Joseph Hall. Mark completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, graduating with a B.A. in English and M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration. Prior to joining Emmanuel Mark served as a Resident Director at Regis College. While most of Mark's work in higher education has been in Residence Life, Mark has also served as an Academic Advisor/Mentor at UMass. He follows a student-first philosophy when conducting his work. Mark is a born and raised Bostonian. His hobbies and interests include spending time with family, drawing, poetry, games (board/video games), playing and watching sports and television/movies.
Assistant Director/Residence Director - St. Ann hall
Zach is originally from Connecticut. He did his undergraduate work at Sacred Heart University earning his B.S. in Accounting. After working in Residence Life at Providence College and Mount Saint Mary College, Zach earned his Master's in Management while working as a Resident Director at Merrimack College. In his spare time, Zach enjoys being outside, spending time with family and friends, and exploring all that Boston has to offer. If you see Zach around campus, be sure to say "Hello!"
Coordinator of Operations and Data Management
Kyle is originally from Los Angeles. He completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Boston College, he holds a B.A. in political science and philosophy and a M.A. in philosophy. During his time at BC, Kyle was an RA for two years and worked in summer reslife operations, he also acted as the graduate assistant at the Boisi Center for Religion and American Public Life, and founded a discussion group on masculinity. Kyle spends most of his free time at the movies, you're likely to find him at the Brattle or Coolidge Corner theaters.
Assistant Resident Director/Professional on Call
Megan is the Assistant Resident Director/Professional on Call for St. Joseph Hall. She is originally from a small town in Connecticut but completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor field of study in Human Development and Nutrition at the University of Rhode Island. At URI she was a Resident Academic Mentor for the Psychology LLC and a Resident Advisor for a first year building. While at Emmanuel, Megan will also be working towards her Masters in Social Work at Simmons College. In her spare time she enjoys, drawing, painting, playing soccer, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
