New Student Transition
Going to college for the first time or transferring to a new college is a challenging process—a process that often comes with many emotions. Emmanuel College provides new students plenty of resources to adjust during this transition.
Orientation program is designed to make the transition to Emmanuel as seamless as possible. This comprehensive program includes course selection, academic advising, educational sessions and a chance to meet your classmates. It will also provide you with the information you will need to become an active, successful and contributing member of the Emmanuel College community.
Student Involvement Fair
Receive information about opportunities to get involved with campus life and begin your career as a student leader at Emmanuel. Sponsored by the Office of Student Activities and the Student Government Association, this fair showcases the many
clubs, organizations and areas of involvement on the Emmanuel College campus.
Student Adjustment Guided Effectively
Student Adjustment Guided Effectively (S.A.G.E.) program pairs incoming students with an upper-class student. Through this program, first-year students will be introduced to clubs, programs, athletics and other activities that might be of interest. The S.A.G.E. program is a great way for students to meet new people and to get involved. For more information, contact your Orientation Leaders.
Each semester, new students have the opportunity to join the Campus Ministry staff to take a weekend away from campus to reflect on the
Take48 Retreat. Through presentations and discussion, songs, prayer and fun activities, students have the opportunity to explore more deeply where they've come from, where they are now and where they are going.
Periodically the Office of New Student Engagement + Transition conducts discussion groups directly with first-year students in an effort to understand and improve the new student experiences. For more information, contact Alexa Simeone, Director of New Student Engagement + Transition at
