Dear New Students and Family Members:
We hope that you are having an enjoyable summer. We are very excited to welcome you to Emmanuel College and we are writing to provide some information about what you can expect on New Student Welcome Day: Sunday, September 3.
While the primary task for resident students is to move-in and begin to get their room settled, the College provides several "Welcome" activities for all new students and their families.
Schedule of Events on Sunday, September 3
8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.Resident Student Move-In
*e-mail with specific move-in time slot, by building/floor, will be sent to each student
2:00 p.m.Commuter Student Welcome
4:30 p.m.Family Liturgy
5:30 p.m.President's Welcome and Presentation of Class Banner
6:00 p.m.Class Photo
6:15 p.m.Family Cookout
7:15 p.m.Families depart and Student Programs continue
Last but not least, we know that in addition to being an exciting, positive and wonderful day, this can also be a difficult and emotional time for new students and their families. With this in mind, we would like to share a Boston Globe column by Beverly Beckham in which she reflects on sending her children off to college.
We want to assure you that we are thinking about you at this time of new beginning in your student's life and that we are very aware that our students are your family members. Best of luck with your final preparations for college.
If you have any questions, please call us at 617-735-9917.
