The 36-credit Master of Education (MEd) Degree program is designed to meet the Standards for Professional Educators issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for Initial Licensure in teaching in the elementary level (grades 1-6) or secondary level (grades 5-8 or 8-12).
Subject area majors leading to teacher initial licensure at the secondary level are: art, biology, chemistry, English literature, history, mathematics and Spanish. Our MEd Degree courses are offered in face-to-face evening or hybrid online formats in seven week sessions that are conducted throughout the calendar year. Candidates for the Master of Education degree must meet the subject matter knowledge requirements for the area of licensure which is verified through a transcript review.
All MEd courses are 3 credits unless noted otherwise.
