Robinson to Speak at Academic Convocation

John Robinson, CEO and Managing Partner of Our Ability, will speak at Emmanuel College's Academic Convocation on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at 12:15 p.m. in the Jean Yawkey Center Gymnasium. Assistant Professor of History Jeffrey Fortin will provide the introduction.

Robinson will also lead a group discussion on the College's EC Reads selection for fall 2014, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, by Mark Haddon.

Robinson is a motivational speaker as well as a video executive producer on numerous award-winning productions for Public Broadcasting and web. He is the subject of a national documentary, Get Off Your Knees: The John Robinson Story and the author of the autobiography, Get Off Your Knees: A Story of Faith, Courage, and Determination, published by Syracuse University Press in 2009.

John has been married for more than twenty years and has three children. In 2001, he was selected to carry the Olympic torch as it passed through Albany, New York on its way to Salt Lake City for the 2002 games.
