Students Compete in “Big Man on Campus” Pageant for Cancer Research Fundraising

Seven Saints contended for the victor’s sash in the annual Big Man on Campus pageant on Wednesday, April 11.

After a fierce but friendly competition, Ean Anderson '19 snatched the sash and the title of "Biggest Man on Campus" while Patrick Fay '20 earned the titles of "First Runner Up" and "Fan Favorite," and Nathan Miozza '19 was deemed "Mr. Congeniality."

"Competing in Big Man on Campus was such a blast," said Anderson. "Everyone who competed put themselves out there and I think we all left it all on the stage—or court, rather. But, for me, competing in Big Man on Campus had more meaning than just having fun."

Coordinated by the Emmanuel College Programming Team, Big Man on Campus is a men's pageant event that raises money for cancer research. Since this year's event fell in the month of April, which is Testicular Cancer Awareness Month, the 2018 Big Man on Campus pageant collected funds for testicular cancer research.

The pageant includes a pick-up line segment, a sportswear segment, and a talent and formalwear segment.

This year's judges were comprised of EC Royalty Samantha Tingue '18 and Francesca Battiato '19, last year's Big Man on Campus winner David Tracey '17, and EC Dancing with the Stars 2018 champions Korey Rodecker '19 and Vice President of College Relations Molly DiLorenzo. Senior Academic Advisor Dorice Griffith and SGA President Eric Cote '18 hosted the event.
