Conditions Affecting Awards

Estimated Awards

Estimated awards are based solely on the information on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and are subject to change pending the review of:

  • Verified income information on the FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval tool, which electronically transfers your/your parent(s) income information from the IRS. To view how to update your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool, please view our How To Apply for Financial Aid video. If you are not able to complete the IRS Data Retrieval Tool, you may need to request IRS Tax Return Transcripts online at www.irs.gov or by calling (800) 908-9946.
  • Other documentation as requested by the Office of Student Financial Services.

The estimated award offered will not change unless there are discrepancies found upon reviewing this information.

Housing & Enrollment Status

Awards are based on the housing status indicated on the Emmanuel College Verification Form for Financial Aid and with the assumption that you will be full time. Your enrollment and housing statuses are verified after the add/drop periods of each semester.
You must notify the Office of Student Financial Services if the enrollment or housing status listed on your award letter is incorrect, as it may affect your financial aid.

Outside Awards

Your financial aid award may change if you receive awards from sources outside of Emmanuel College, including private scholarships, tuition remission, ROTC or other aid after you submitted your financial aid applications.

It is the College's policy to reduce unmet financial need before reducing institutional grant aid or federal campus-based funds. You are responsible for providing documentation of outside awards and for ensuring the funds are sent to our office.

Satisfactory Academic Progress

To continue receiving financial aid, students must maintain satisfactory academic progress. This means students must successfully complete 21 credits each year, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 after their sophomore year, in order to be eligible for financial assistance. Please refer to the Emmanuel College Academic Catalog for more information concerning satisfactory academic progress.

Withdrawal(s) and Leaves of Absence

If you officially withdraw before the first day of classes, you will not be charged tuition, housing and fees, excluding non-refundable deposits.

If you officially withdraw on or after the first day of classes, your tuition and housing charges and Emmanuel aid will be adjusted based on the Emmanuel Withdrawal Policy.
