State Grants + Scholarships
Emmanuel students have the opportunity to apply for several state-based grants and scholarships.
State grants and scholarships are awarded to full-time undergraduate students from their official state of residence. These state awards may be need-based grants or merit-based scholarships and eligibility criteria vary by state. In addition to Massachusetts, the states of Rhode Island, Vermont and Pennsylvania permit the use of their state funding at Emmanuel.
You must complete a FAFSA to be considered for a state grant or scholarship. For Massachusetts residents, there is a May 1 FAFSA filing deadline to be considered for a Massachusetts State Grant. Questions regarding the MA State Grant can be directed to the Massachusetts Office of Student Financial Assistance at 617-727-9420. We recommend you consult your state's education department to determine the deadline for other states' programs.
Eligibility notification letters are sent to Massachusetts residents beginning in May. If you are identified as eligible for a state grant or scholarship, the award is considered estimated until the College receives notification from your state's scholarship office.
In addition to the Massachusetts State Grant, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts offers a need-based grant to Massachusetts residents who are full-time undergraduate students. Funds are limited and are offered to students with significant financial need. The amount of a typical Gilbert Grant is $1,000.
