International Studies: Diplomacy + Security

International Studies

Peace-making, trade, war and human rights are just a few of the issues to be navigated and negotiated in international relations and foreign policy.

A concentration in diplomacy and security gives students the opportunity to gain historic and cultural perspectives on the politics of nations around the globe and think analytically and critically about these influences on war, peace and everything in between. Students will get a thorough grounding in politics, history, economics and the art and science of statecraft and diplomacy, as well as develop a deep appreciation for cultures around the world. In the process, they will develop an understanding of how to engage and negotiate on the interstate and the transnational level.
