Photographic imagery is prevalent in nearly every aspect of our lives. It is a critical element of how humankind shares ideas, facts and fictions. Whether it be the duration of light recorded in a fraction of a second-or three years-photographs are a freeze-frame rendering of the impermanence of all that occurs and exists. They present the visible and may allude to that which is not.
With a newly-renovated facility and strong tradition of faculty mentoring, photography minors have an unprecedented opportunity to study and create. With small class sizes, new curriculum, digital and analog studios, naturally lit multi-purpose studios and growing collection of equipment, Emmanuel offers photography students the opportunity to develop their creative vision within a facility and a department dedicated to the exploration of a medium that is the cornerstone of contemporary visual communication.
