History and secondary ed major Michael Rainha left Emmanuel prepared to succeed in a classroom of his own thanks to dedicated professors, supportive peers and a career-solidifying practicum at North Quincy High School.
Petros Vamvakas is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Chair of the Latin American Studies, Middle East Studies and Peace Studies Programs. His work focuses on security and democratization, as well as issues related to identity and race in politics throughout the Americas. As part of his teaching, he has escorted groups of students to Crete, Greece, and will be bringing a group of students to Cuba.
Emmanuel is the alma mater of dozens of law professionals, with positions ranging from district attorney to corporate lawyer, from politician to professor.
On the cusp of her senior year at Emmanuel, studio art major Hannah Lynch '19 was awarded the Emmanuel College Travel Fellowship for Advanced Study, enabling her to travel to at Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina for a two-week workshop focused on textiles.
While a student, Ashlee Jeannot '17 founded the S.T.A.R.T. program for first years students--a model she took with her after graduation to provide diversity and inclusion training beyond the college campus.
Shennah didn't have to go far to find the right internship opportunity--the graphic design minor reported to Emmanuel's on-campus Marketing & Communications department, where she worked on a range of graphic design projects to promote College events and programs.
Although half a world away in Pakistan, Justin Prairie '05 is never far from Emmanuel and Boston. A foreign service officer with the U.S. State Department, Justin currently works on political and military affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Key ingredients to Samantha's success included courses that enhanced her knowledge of the field of communications; relationships with classmates, faculty and staff that influenced her personal and professional life; and leadership roles in a broad range of extracurricular activities.
While at Emmanuel, Christina took advantage of every networking opportunity that came her way, which led to an internship and then a full-time position at the Massachusetts State House.
When Rachael was applying to college, she hadn't quite figured out what she wanted to study. There were several routes she could take on the path to her future, but deciding on one seemed impossible. It was then that she realized she needed to attend a school that could support all of her interests.
As a sociology major and student-athlete on the Saints Men's Lacrosse team, Michael Donovan '16 was able to blend his love of sports and helping others during his time at Emmanuel and beyond.
When Jamie transferred to Emmanuel after attending a different institution, he did so, he said, because he'd have the ability to pursue both of his passions: international studies and photography.
