Bio

Terri Jabaley Leonarczyk has been a nurse educator and oncology clinical nurse specialist for over twenty years. She has served as nursing faculty in academia for the past 10 years and has taught in both traditional and accelerated formats. She obtained her PhD in nursing at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell in 2012. She was awarded the Research Fund Award from the Pi Epsilon at large chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing for her dissertation study and the Promise for Nursing Regional Faculty Fellowship for doctoral study from the National Student Nurses Association. Her research focuses on genomics and cancer risk management decision making for women with BRCA mutations. She has presented her research at the International Society of Nurses in Genetics 2010 annual conference, the 2011 Innovations in Nursing lecture at Boston College and the 2013 Distinguished Scholar Lecture at Regis College. She recently co-authored two chapters in "Accelerated Education in Nursing: Challenges, Strategies, and Future Directions." She is a member of the National League for Nursing, The International Society of Nurses in Genetics (ISONG), and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing.
