Master Promissory Note & Entrance Counseling

To complete the application process for a Federal Direct Stafford Loan, all first time borrowers at Emmanuel College must complete both a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling. To use this loan towards your tuition bill, our office must have a completed MPN and Entrance Counseling on file for you.

Complete both the Federal Direct Stafford Loan MPN and Entrance Counseling online. Once you are on the U.S. Department of Education's website you will want to click on the green "Sign In" box under the "Manage My Direct Loan" section. Please keep in mind that you will need your four digit Federal PIN to complete both the Entrance Counseling and MPN. If you need a PIN or have misplaced your existing PIN, you may request a new one by visiting the U.S. Department of Education's website at www.pin.ed.gov.

Declining or Reducing Your Loan

If you do not wish to borrow with the Federal Direct Stafford Loan or would like to reduce the amount of your loan, please send an email including your name and student ID to financialservices@emmanuel.edu.
