Sr. Janet's 30th Anniversary - Milestones

Sr. Janet Eisner, SND
Sr. Janet's leadership has transformed Emmanuel College. Forward-looking, often daring, decisions have created the vibrant community we are today with a student body of 2,500 traditional undergraduate and graduate studies students.

Emmanuel College Admits Men
The decision to become coeducational in 2000 has led to dramatic growth—traditional undergraduate enrollment has more than tripled and applications have increased nearly tenfold. The number of full-time faculty has nearly doubled.

Accelerated Adult Learning Program
In the 1980's, Emmanuel became one of the first colleges in the country to introduce accelerated adult learning both on our campus and at off-site locations. This innovative program has today grown to more than sixteen degrees and certificates offered on campus, online and off-site through Graduate Studies.

Going Green...
Consistently ahead of her time, one of Sister Janet's first initiatives after being inagurated as President of Emmanuel College in 1979 was to green the campus. The parking lot located behind the Administration Building was transformed into a quad, enjoyed by decades of students to date... and generations of students to come.

Going Green...the Quad Today
Sr. Janet has also worked to transform the physical campus over the years with the additions of various new spaces.
