Emmanuel's central location, in the heart of the Longwood Medical and Academic Area and adjacent to some of the most respected health care institutions and research centers in the world, allows the College to form strategic partnerships with leaders in the biopharmaceutical industry.

Our expert faculty members call upon their professional research experiences at world-renowned institutions such as Merck, AstraZeneca, AMRI, Vertex, Amgen and Adolor. Emmanuel is the recipient of the University Professional and Continuing Education Association's (UPCEA) 2010 Community of Practice Award for Outreach and Engagement for Employer and Association Partnerships.



The Curriculum: A Cutting-Edge Approach

The knowledge and skills gained in the Graduate Certificate in Biopharmaceutical Leadership can be immediately applied on the job. Using a case-study approach and interactive technology platforms, our faculty members cover critical elements of biopharmaceutical leadership, including organizational behavior, team leadership and project management. Students learn about unique aspects of the biopharmaceutical environment, including intellectual property law, the pharmaceutical regulatory process, creating and implementing strategy and research in a global environment.

Students further their understanding of course material through interactions with a growing network of current and future leaders in the biopharmaceutical industry. Students who choose to pursue a Master of Science in Management with specialization in Biopharmaceutical Leadership benefit from competencies in leadership, ethics and management. The Format: Supporting Professional Growth

The graduate programs are offered in a convenient accelerated format at Emmanuel’s main campus in Boston, as well as online. Face-to-face courses meet just once per week from 6:00-10:00 p.m. Online courses take place in an asynchronous format. All courses are completed in 7-week accelerated sessions. The six biopharmaceutical leadership courses are offered in a cohort model with two program starts per year. To begin the program in September, please apply by July 31st. To begin the program in March, please apply by January 31st.

This coursework satisfies the academic requirements needed to earn a Graduate Certificate in Biopharmaceutical Leadership. For those choosing to earn the Master of Science in Management with specialization in Biopharmaceutical Leadership, students begin the five general management courses after completing the biopharmaceutical leadership cohort courses. Students should apply to the program from which they intend to graduate.
