Financial Aid & Scholarships

For financial aid purposes, the 2013-2014 academic year begins with the Summer 2013 courses and concludes with the Spring 2014 courses. To apply for financial aid, the following applications are required:

1. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
The 2013-2014 FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.gov. In order to complete, make corrections to, or electronically sign the FAFSA online, the student is required to have a Federal PIN. To obtain a PIN (or request a duplicate if the original PIN has been misplaced), please visit www.pin.ed.gov.

When completing or updating the FAFSA, students are strongly encouraged to use the IRS Data Retrieval tool provided on the FAFSA.  If not, students may be required to request a 2012 tax return transcript from the IRS.  (www.irs.gov)  Students will receive notification from the Office of Student Financial Services if additional information is required to determine financial aid eligibility.

Emmanuel College's Federal School Code is 002147.

Deadlines

As students may be accepted and begin courses at various times throughout the academic year, financial aid applications are typically submitted prior to the start of the first term of enrollment.  All required documentation, however, must be received at least two weeks prior to the end of the semester in which the student is applying for aid.  Failure to do so may result in the application not being processed, and the student being financially responsible for any charges on the account.

Please note: To be considered for financial aid from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, a FAFSA must be received by the federal processor no later than May 1 prior to the start of the academic year. While students may still apply for financial aid after this deadline, they will only be considered for federal sources of financial aid.
