Our students don't just make the grade... They make a difference.
Studying sociology at Emmanuel takes our students beyond the classroom. The department regularly invites sociological researchers and social justice activists from the Boston area to enrich classroom theory and discussions. And concepts come to life when students visit local, national and international organizations like the United Nations or Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Students tap into the rich social and professional resources that Boston has to offer by interning in organizations around the city. Recent internship locations include Mass General Hospital, Sociedad Latina, the American Islamic Congress, United for a Fair Economy and the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF).
