Mission Statement

The mission of the Performing Arts Department at Emmanuel College is to offer students exposure to and skills in the various performing arts disciplines. We believe that the three main areas our department focuses on - theater, music and dance - are a vital and integral part of a liberal arts education and can also provide students with practical tools for successful graduate and professional careers.

Through high-quality courses taught by instructors with both academic and "real-life" experience, our department advances comprehensive theoretical and historical knowledge in these fields, as well as opportunities to master specific creative and technical skills through performance. Offering minors in theater and music, as well as individualized majors within the field and in conjunction with other disciplines, our department serves students seeking professions in the performing arts, as well as those interested in exploring them as a secondary area of interest.
