Internships

Internship Proposal/Agreement

Interns are responsible for applying for an internship position through listings in the I/CD office, faculty contacts or their own research efforts of potential sites. The skills built in the internship search process are lifetime skills.

Once an internship is confirmed and a site supervisor agrees to the student's participation at that location, a proposal or agreement should be developed BY THE STUDENT AND THE INTERNSHIP SUPERVISOR.

Agreements vary between academic departments. However, the primary goal of the agreement is to define the learning objectives of the internship and how those objectives will be met. Once this has been agreed to by the student, site supervisor, and faculty sponsor, the formal internship can begin.
