Construction Continues Through Summer Months

June 10, 2009

In just a few short months, the College will wrap up construction on both the new Academic Science Center and Roberto Clemente Field.

Throughout the summer, work will continue on the Academic Science Center's interior in preparation for occupancy this fall. Landscaping has also begun around the Center's exterior; meaning the full return of Emmanuel's quad is rapidly approaching.

The renovation of Roberto Clemente Field continues to progress quickly. Preliminary efforts in laying down the new turf and track surfaces have begun and the area in general has already undergone much change. The stands on the southern side of the field have been removed and early signs of the field's new scoreboard and backstops are now visible. The project, made possible by a partnership between Emmanuel and the city of Boston, remains on schedule to be completed in time for the start of the fall athletic seasons.

In addition, work on the new art department on the fifth floor of the Administration Building is moving along smoothly in preparation for the beginning of the academic year. The renovated area will provide studios for painting, drawing, 3-D graphics, as well as a woodshop, a dark room, a Mac lab and classrooms.
