Liliana Busconi joins Emmanuel as Special Instructor of Biology. She previously served as an adjunct in Biology at Emmanuel and as a research assistant professor at Boston University. She holds a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. from the Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires.
Nola Della-Monica has joined Emmanuel as an Assistant Professor of Nursing. She previously served as an assistant professor at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Della-Monica holds a B.S. in psychology from San Francisco State University, an M.S. in nursing administration from California State University and a Doctor of philosophy, nursing from Boston College William F. Connell School of Nursing.
Yulia Dementieva joins Emmanuel's Mathematics Department as an Associate Professor of Math. She previously served as an associate professor of math at Marshall University. Dementieva holds an M.S. in mathematics/statistics from St. Petersburg State University as well as a Ph.D. in mathematics from Emory University.
Jim Doherty has joined the Emmanuel faculty as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting. Previously, Doherty had served as an adjunct professor at the College. He holds a B.A. from Merrimack College as well as an M.S. in accounting from Bentley College.
Janese Free joins the Department of Sociology as an Assistant Professor. She previously served as an assistant professor at Eastern Nazarene College. Free holds a B.A. in sociology and anthropology from Gettysburg College and an M.A. in sociology and Ph.D. in sociology with a concentration in criminology from Northeastern University.
Mikal Gaines has joined Emmanuel as a Dissertation Fellow. Gaines previously served as a head dialogue instructor for the Keio Cross-Cultural Program at The College of William and Mary. Gaines holds a B.A. in English arts from Hampton University. He also holds an M.A. and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in American Studies from The College of William and Mary.
Veronica Gross joins Emmanuel's Department of Psychology as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology. Gross previously served as an adjunct professor at the University of Massachusetts - Boston, and Bunker Hill Community College. She holds a B.S. in neuroscience from Brown University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in neuroscience from Boston University.
Fiona McDonnell will serve as Associate Professor of Science Education/Director of the Center for Science Education at Emmanuel. She was previously an associate professor at Rivier College. She holds a B.A. in zoology from the University of New Hampshire and an M.A. in Education from Tufts University. She also holds a Doctor of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Michael McGuire joins Emmanuel as Special Instructor of History. McGuire previously served as an adjunct faculty member in the History Department at Emmanuel College and an instructor in history at Boston University. He holds a B.A. in history from Vassar College and is pursuing his Ph.D. from Boston University.
Rebecca Moryl joins Emmanuel as a visiting assistant professor of economics. She previously served as an adjunct professor at Emmanuel, teaching undergraduate microeconomics. Moryl holds a B.A. in public policy from Trinity College, an M.S. in economic policy from Suffolk University as well as a Ph.D. in public policy from the University of Massachusetts Boston.
Madani Naidjate has joined Emmanuel as Special Instructor of Math. Naidjate previously served as a visiting assistant professor of math and computer science at Wheaton College. Naidjate holds a B.S. in applied mathematics and telecommunication from Algiers Polytechnic Institute as well as an M.S. and Ph.D. in applied mathematics from Boston University.
Isa Orvieto joins Emmanuel as a Special Instructor of Foreign Languages. Orvieto previously served as an adjunct and special instructor at Emmanuel and an adjunct professor at the Institute for European Studies. She holds a laurea (B.A. equivalent) in modern literature from the University La Sapienza in Rome, Italy as well as an M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Shuyi Jiang joins Emmanuel as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics. Jiang previously served as an adjunct professor at both Fisher College and Suffolk University. Jiang holds a B.S. in international economics and trade from Tianjin Polytechnic University in China and a Ph.D. in economics from Suffolk University.
Regine Joseph has joined Emmanuel's Foreign Studies Department as a Visiting Assistant Professor. She previously served as a dissertation fellow at Emmanuel and a visiting assistant professor at Emmanuel, focusing on intermediate French as well as post-colonial rewritings of the western Canon. Joseph holds an A.B. in romance languages and literatures from Harvard College, an M.Phil. in French literature and a Ph.D. in French literature and francophone studies from New York University.
Christine Leighton joins Emmanuel's Education Department as an Assistant Professor of Education. Leighton previously served as an instructor at both Boston University and Salem State University. She holds a B.S.L.A. in Spanish from Georgetown University, an M.Ed. in secondary education from George Washington University, and is currently working towards an Ed.D. in literacy and language from Boston University.
Clare Mehta joins Emmanuel's Psychology Department as an Assistant Professor of Psychology. She previously served as a postdoctoral research fellow for Children's Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Mehta holds a B.A. in psychology from Suffolk University, a master's of research, education from the University of Bath, England, and an M.S. in psychology as well as a doctorate of philosophy, psychology from West Virginia University.
Christine Sample has joined Emmanuel's Mathematics Department as a Visiting Professor of Math. She recently served as a postdoctoral associate for the Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics at Princeton University. Sample holds a B.A. in mathematics and computer science from Boston College as well as an M.S. and Ph.D. in applied mathematics from Northwestern University.
Anupama Seshan joins Emmanuel's Biology Department as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology. She previously served as a curriculum fellow for the department of cell biology at Harvard Medical School. Seshan holds a B.A. in biological sciences from Cornell University as well as a Ph.D. in biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Kevin Walker joins Emmanuel's Department of Political Science as a Visiting Assistant Professor. Walker previously served as an adjunct professor at Azusa Pacific University. He holds a B.A. in philosophy as well as history, both from Azusa Pacific University. Walker also holds an M.A. in political philosophy and a Ph.D. in Government, both from Claremont Graduate University.
Xiaowei Zhao has joined the College's Psychology Department as an Assistant Professor of Psychology. Zhao previously served as a visiting assistant professor of psychology at Colgate University. He holds a B.S. as well as a Ph.D. in physics from Nankai University and completed post doctorate studies in cognitive psychology and psycholinguistics at the University of Richmond.
Deborah Zorn joins Emmanuel's Chemistry Department as a Special Instructor of Chemistry. Zorn previously served as an adjunct instructor at both the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy as well as Bunker Hill Community College. She holds a B.S. in chemistry and mathematics from Buena Vista University and a doctorate of philosophy in physical chemistry from Iowa State University.
