August 05, 2010
Emmanuel College Professor of Nursing Joan Riley, along with her colleague Judy Beal, associate dean of the School of Health Sciences at Simmons College, recently received funding by the National League for Nursing (NLN) for their proposal to conduct a national study on the scholar elements in baccalaureate nursing education.
Dedicated to excellence in nursing education, the NLN is the preferred membership organization for nurse faculty and leaders in nursing education. The NLN promotes excellence in nursing education to build a strong and diverse nursing workforce and awards approximately six to eight grants annually to NLN individual members and faculty of NLN member schools.
Riley and Beal also wrote a collaborative piece titled "Civic Social Responsibility: Experienced Nurses' Views on Social and Civic Responsibility" published in Nursing Outlook, a prominent and highly regarded journal within the nursing field. To see the article, click here.
