The Emmanuel College dance team performed at the American Cancer Society's annual "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk on October 3rd at Boston's DCR Hatch Memorial Shell. It was the first performance of the year for the 2010-2011 squad and their second time performing at the breast cancer walk.
"The team is very excited about its performance and the opportunity to help out at the event again this year," said Lauren Daniel '11, senior captain. "Nadiya Ledan '11 is the other captain and this is our fourth year on the team. We have very high expectations for our team for fundraising, events and performances this year!"
The team has participated in the walk for over five years now, last year being their first time performing. They raised money by selling rubber "ducks for a buck" in the Jean Yawkey Center during activities period throughout the week, in addition to selling baked goods. All the proceeds and donations went straight to the Breast Cancer Fund. Members of Emmanuel's cheer, men's basketball and tennis teams also participated in the walk.
