February 29, 2012
As part of the College's celebration of Black History Month in February, members of Emmanuel's Black Student Union recited noteworthy speeches by African-Americans in the Marian Hall Dining Room on February 23rd. Students chose speeches by such people as Shirley Chisholm, the first black woman to serve in Congress, civil rights activist W.E.B. Du Bois, and former slave and abolitionist Sojourner Truth.
