Surveys

Several major surveys are administered at Emmanuel College on a scheduled basis, either annually or in rotation with other surveys. Their results inform planning and decision-making in many areas. Taken together, the results of such surveys help the College understand the quality of its programs and services, the nature of faculty-student and staff-student interaction, the hopes of incoming students, the aspirations of exiting students, and the value of many facets of the Emmanuel College experience.

CIRP Freshman Survey

  • Developed by: UCLA’s Higher Education Research Institution
  • Survey population: Incoming freshmen
  • Aim: To determine the characteristics, hopes, expectations, and beliefs of incoming students before they begin the college experience (administered during summer orientation for this reason); comparable with the results of the College Senior Survey also developed by HERI
  • Frequency: Every year

College Senior Survey

  • Frequency: Every three years, in rotation with SSI and CSS

Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE)

Graduating Student “Exit” Survey

  • Developed by: College staff
  • Survey population: Graduating students
  • Aim: To provide these students an opportunity to “weigh in” on many areas of their experience (curriculum, faculty, offices and services, social opportunities, career preparation), notify the College of future career and educational plans, and provide candid, open-ended assessments of their growth as students at Emmanuel
  • Frequency: Every year

Alumni Survey

  • Survey population: Alumni
  • Aim: To map the career and educational trajectories of former students, allowing them to reflect on academic, social, and spiritual preparation provided by the College, particularly the degree to which such preparation has served them professionally
  • Frequency: Every year
